WYRMHOLE is a terminally-online magazine for speculative short fiction. Each monthly issue contains selected short fiction, themed story recommendations, featured cover art, and our signature Wildcard Editorial. Also, lots of memes.
Our definition of speculative includes fantasy, science fiction, horror, slipstream, and all other flavors of the unreal. Our definition of memes includes anything generated online that makes us laugh.

WYRMHOLE was founded when seven writers experiencing their twenties got together on Discord, sent each other a bunch of memes, and said: “Hang on. Why aren’t there more of us here?”
So we looked around. We looked a little more. And it turns out that there weren’t a lot of young guys reading/writing speculative short stories in the first place, which we thought was tragique, but also an actual real, total shame, because we think spec short stories are fantastic. They’re the lifeblood of the genre. The bleeding, silvered edge; the eye of the satanic goat. They are a shot to the goddamn nervous system, and my God. There aren’t many of us around.
In short, we’re here for many reasons (workaholism, hubris, fun times etc.) But mostly, we’re here because we want to hold up something cool and say, “LOOK AT THIS! LOOK AT WHAT’S OUT THERE,” because everyone deserves to experience stories you can read in less than an hour and then think about for the rest of your life.
Spec short fiction deserves to be read.
